Retired General Backs Muhoozi as Future Leader, While Upholding Museveni’s Rol

Retired Brigadier General Emmanuel Rwashande has been making headlines across Uganda. He recently came out publicly to say he supports General Muhoozi Kainerugaba as a potential future leader for the country.

Speaking about the ongoing conversation around President Yoweri Museveni’s time in office and who might take over, Rwashande acknowledged that Uganda is currently safer with Museveni in charge. At the same time, he pointed out Muhoozi’s growing influence, especially when it comes to the country’s security.

Rwashande believes that when the time comes for a new leader, Muhoozi is ready for the job. The retired general explained that Muhoozi is already playing a big role in handling security matters and has proven he can lead effectively. He noted that the leadership system will simply adjust when the change happens.

Praising Muhoozi’s Work

One of the areas where Rwashande praised Muhoozi was his efforts to fight corruption in the army. The retired general said corruption had been a huge problem in the past, but since Muhoozi became the Chief of Defence Forces, things have gotten much better. Rwashande even said, “He has silenced corruption,” showing how Muhoozi’s leadership is making a real difference.

Rwashande also highlighted Muhoozi’s success in finishing important projects, like the Mbuya hospital, which had been delayed for a long time. This project had faced many challenges over the years, but with Muhoozi’s guidance, it was finally completed. Rwashande sees this as proof that Muhoozi can get things done where others couldn’t.

A Message for the Future

While Rwashande believes Muhoozi has the potential to be Uganda’s next leader, he also stressed that for now, President Museveni is the best person to protect the country. He said there is currently no one else who can keep Uganda as safe and stable as Museveni has.

The retired general’s public support for Muhoozi sends a strong message about the future of Uganda’s leadership. It shows that there is growing confidence in Muhoozi’s ability to continue the work of keeping the country secure and moving forward. With many Ugandans watching closely, the question of who will lead Uganda after Museveni remains a big topic, and many see Muhoozi as the most likely person.

Rwashande’s remarks suggest that the military backs Muhoozi, and many Ugandans may soon face a choice to support him if he steps forward as the next president. For now, though, the focus remains on Museveni’s continued leadership and the stability he provides.
