Ugandan dancehall star Ziza Bafana has stepped into the country’s biggest music feud of the year, one that has seen veteran legend Jose Chameleone go head-to-head with street king Alien Skin.
In an interview on Galaxy TV, which has since spread widely on social media, Ziza Bafana shut down the comparisons between the two artistes. He was very clear, saying the two are “worlds apart” in talent, character, and music style, and that they have “nothing in common.”
This statement comes as the Chameleone–Alien Skin beef continues to dominate Uganda’s entertainment scene, with fans, bloggers, and fellow musicians all giving their takes.
The feud first started when Jose Chameleone, one of Uganda’s biggest music exports, openly criticized Alien Skin’s music. He dismissed its quality and refused to place it anywhere near his decades-long career. That sparked anger from Alien Skin’s camp, with the singer and his crew hitting back in videos that quickly went viral.
At one point, Chameleone even warned that he would “discipline” anyone disrespecting him, a threat that made things worse. In return, Alien Skin doubled down, throwing more taunts, while his crew posted defiant clips, vowing not to let the Leone Island boss intimidate them.
Social media picked up the drama, and the feud spread across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. What started as a simple trashing of music has now become a full-blown industry storm, dividing fans into two camps — one defending Chameleone as the king who paved the way, and the other hailing Alien Skin as the unfiltered voice of the streets.
Other artistes have also been caught up in the storm, with some like Fik Gaza trying to distance themselves from the chaos. But now, Ziza Bafana’s comments have added fresh energy to the debate.
By insisting that Chameleone’s international legacy cannot be compared to Alien Skin’s street reign, Ziza may have intended to bring clarity, but instead, he has poured more fuel into the fire.
As it stands, the feud shows no signs of slowing down, and with fans still arguing fiercely, it might just remain the biggest Ugandan celebrity beef of 2025.
